The snatch pull trains the snatch pull from the floor without an overhead catch. Its wide grip and close bar path build leg drive, upper-back strength, and explosive extension specific to the snatch.
- Targets: Glutes
- Equipment: Barbell
- Type: Compound
Step by step
How to do the Barbell Snatch Pull

- Brace and push through the floor while keeping the shoulders slightly in front of the bar.
- Keep the bar close as it passes the knees and bring the torso toward upright.
- Extend the hips, knees, and ankles forcefully, finishing tall with a natural shrug and long arms.
